What is the Wojapi Meat Rub™?

Wojapi Meat Rub™ is inspired by the traditional berry sauce of the Lakota Plains. We blended berry powders, smoked spices, and bold flavor into a one-of-a-kind seasoning crafted to elevate grilled meats, vegetables, and more. It's heritage in a jar—made for today's kitchen.

Is this the same as traditional wojapi?

Not quite. Traditional wojapi is a thick berry sauce. Our rub is a dry spice blend that uses berry powders and smoked notes to evoke that flavor in a completely new way.

Can I use it on more than just meat?

Absolutely. Try it on grilled veggies, sprinkled over popcorn, mixed into marinades, or even on roasted nuts. It's made to inspire creativity.

Is it spicy?

The original Wojapi Meat Rub™ has a bold, smoky berry flavor with a hint of warmth. We are currently working on a spicy version next.

Is it Native-owned?

Yes. Red Wing Spices is proudly Native-owned by Melody Red Wing and Wayne Richardson. Every jar is a celebration of cultural roots and modern kitchen craft.
